College students are interested in a lot of things. Ultimate frisbee, free delivery, partial credit but unfortunately securing their personal data is not high on that list. So to get students to attend an event dedicated to securing their personal data we had a couple options. One was free food. That always works. The other was empowering them to secure their future, career-wise, and that’s where we found cybersecurity to have the upper hand.
Leveraging the over one million job openings in cybersecurity we implemented a marketing campaign that emphasized their future. Offering a place for students to start finding jobs and internships that were readily available. Add in some tips and freebies for securing their personal data now and we have a successful event centered around cybersecurity. Now, who wants pizza?
